The Twelfth Annual Student Tourism & Hospitality Conference entitled "The Best of Everything" was cancelled this year due to Hurricane Irmal.

In previous years, over 130 high school students and their teachers at Palm Beach Gardens High Tourism, Hospitality & Resort Management Magnet Program, Forest Hills High School Tourism & Hospitality Career Academy and Olympic Heights High School's Tourism & Hospitality Career Academy attended the conference.

They were welcomed with a presenation on the Tourism & Hospitality Industry in Palm Beach County and then students were split into panel sessions featuring professionals talking about: 1) The Open Door - Careers in the Hospitality Industry; 2) What makes up the Tourism Industry in Palm Beach County? 3) How Do I get ready for my future in the Tourism & Hospitality Industry 4)I want the Job - How do I get hired? and 5) The Exciting World of Hospitality Sales & Marketing

The conference concluded with a lunch and awards, including the hotly-contested bed-making and waiters races. A raffle was also drawn for seven lucky student prize winners.

With the success of the last conferences, it is now firmly planted as an annual feature for tourism and hospitality students in Palm Beach County.

The Association is grateful to the many sponsors that made these conferences possible with their financial support.
