2010 ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Posted Saturday, March 11, 2006 This year's Annual Golf Tournament, benefiting the Association's Education & Scholarship Fund, was held on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
It commenced with a picnic lunch at 11.30 am and a shotgun start for all golfers at 12.30 pm. At 5.30 pm the Awards Presentation & Reception, including a sumptuous buffet and bar, took place with the Championship Trophy going to the winning foursome (low gross score) of Integrated Technologies, headed by Brian Birchenough. Awards for the winners of three flights of golfing foursomes (Sundek & Viking Cleaners; Amcal Management; & McCaig/Barr/Basso/Hansen), putting contest (John Rowe), closest to the pin (David Offenhauser)and longest (Jeff Sanders)and straightest (Mark Weiss) drives were made. The Sportman's Trophy, in memory of our Past President Wolfgang Baere, was also presented to David Schneider.
The popular Travel Auction followed immediately afterwards with many fabulous prizes available, supplied by members and their associates. The drawing for the winner of our Super Raffle, with a cash prize of $5,000, also took place and was won by The Breakers, who graciously donated the full amount back to the Education & Scholarship Fund.
The proceeds from the tournament, raffle and auction all go to the Association's Education & Scholarship Fund. Over the last sixteen years the Fund has awarded scholarships totalling over $150,000.00 to hospitality students at the Association's Hotel Day in October of each year.
